The Weekly Dump 11.27.20

It’s the Black Friday version of the Weekly Dump! Best price in town here. Free! We’re talking about the COVID spike (it’s real folks!), what’s newsworthy anymore, our local sense of entitlement, the gifts that keep giving, rewarding a local hero, the Santa Cruz city council is still alive, big artists support local fire relief, and more!

It’s time for the Purple Curfew! We’re talking the latest restrictions that make you want to scream, the latest COVID numbers from Santa Cruz County, Scotts Valley carjackers, the gift that keeps on giving, Santa’s little helper, fishing expedition pays off, felons with guns on parole, drunks causing trouble in Aptos, drunks causing trouble in Santa Cruz, servicing instead of reducing homelessness locally, and wishing everyone a safe and sane Thanksgiving. The best way to celebrate it this year is to stay home and binge watch football and eat whatever you want. No need to argue politics with family at the table. We’re all in this bubble together. Be well. And thanks for reading!

We’re back in the red again. One step forward and two steps back. It’s why UCSC announced they’re staying online at least through next summer, we had another serious outbreak at a local senior living facility, as a county our COVID numbers are spiking again, wear a mask! In other news, a guy got killed after being hit by a car in a crosswalk on Mission Street, running his mouth straight to jail, turnstiler of the week, the gift that keeps on giving, Sunday in the park, Bigfoot found, bringing the public defender back, adios Gail, and don’t be hating on the police!

What a crazy week nationally! We’re turning corners this week, talking winners and losers, Camp Duh is coming, local COVID updates, checking all the bad behavior boxes, carjacked on Felix Street, getting what we are willing to tolerate, jeepers creepers, and the Boardwalk returns (sort of).
