This week, we had a bank robbery downtown, an armed robbery at a local hotel, cars crashing into buildings, violent sex offenders in Bonny Doon, repercussions to idiot compassion, the weekly DOA in the park, a stabbing on Felker, naked wrestling with SCPD, willful ignorance and tone deaf moments from the mayor, back on the chain gang, lots of penny bailers, a couple of local fires, bail is irrelevant, the Human Dingleberry gets arrested, tow and go, and break out your masks again.

We had a couple of shitbag transient losers plead guilty to murdering a Good Samaritan from Aptos last year, an armed robbery on 3rd Street, a carjacking at gunpoint, relax it’s Holiday Inn, two die in motorcycle crash, teenager arrested in Watsonville murder, banging in the Beach Flats, West Cliffisticuffs, don’t want him near the kid’s playground, mischief in the park, the way to San Jose, arsonist in Scotts valley, and zooming in on the Santa Cruz city council.

It’s finally time for the latest Weekly Dump! Better late than never I guess. It was a nutty week last week, we had the big bum camp bust, only to see most of them released or given penny bail, we had Fentanyl dealers with weapons of mass destruction given penny bail by Jim Hart, we had a Watsonville gang stabbing, 12 pounds of heroin can’t keep him in jail, the usual felony violation of parole, capsicum, drunk and disorderly on Mission, bum rushed in the benchlands, she went to hell and came back alive, over the edge, and that pesky COVID thing is still causing big problems.

We’re also talking dire straits, lumberjacks, suspected rapists causing mayhem, falling into the Gap, local murder suspect arrested in Idaho, crash into me, ungrateful spread, Keith McKaren, ass dismissed, and the return of the Weekly Seen.

This week, the coroner announced that the body found off Shaffer Road along Skid Row wasn’t a homicide but just another drug overdose, we had a suicidal person thankfully rescued off an overpass after escaping from Dominican Hospital, we had a couple speedy deliveries, the idiocy of AB109 and “PRCS”, Saturday night’s alright for fighting, man on a Mission, SCPD isn’t mething around, greasy turnstiles, kind of blue, the axe man, bum paradise, and that pesky COVID is still around!

The Santa Cruz Fire Chief saves us again! He doesn’t just save lives, he saves us from ourselves again! We also had a woman stabbed to death in Watsonville, the usual Metro madness, high speed chase ends poorly, making St. Francis cry, Darwin’s law, the jail didn’t want him either, lacking repercussions, brawling at the Blue Lagoon, bad decisions lead to 10 years in prison, the magic bus has left the station, another downtown bum fight, drunk smashes up King Street, home invasion on the westside, and that dumbass from San Jose is finally out of jail.

Get ready for the crush of tourists as temperatures are expected to soar everywhere but here. Lucky us. This week, we’ve got SCPD picking up bum trash in San Lorenzo park, dead end streets, nice views, cataclysmic converters, driver barrels into people in Watsonville, a bad day at the beach, Chrysler Sebrings, a fix for the road, burning down the house, and the return of the weenie mob from Antioch.

Fourth of July weekend in Santa Cruz! What a joy. Gridlocked streets. Crowded beaches. Chuckleheads lighting off illegal fireworks. And this week, we’ve got a woman found murdered in her RV parked downtown, the judge says it’s time to go, the human barnacle finally gets arrested, transients fighting in traffic, young drunk and stupid, the food isn’t good enough to fight over, bum central, shitty dad of the week, back on the chain gang, and please, don’t be a fireworks putz.

Time for another edition of the Weekly Dump! We kicked off summer this week, surviving our first ever “post pandemic” Memorial Day weekend. We’re seeing downtown get re-shaped, packing heat downtown, gunfights on Elm Street, getting assaulted with a deadly weapon at “Friendship Gardens”, making the Baby Jesus cry, set up like a bowling pin, a running stolen car isn’t a good place to pass out, it’s good to have friends with Narcan, subjective law enforcement fail, Watsonville thieves arrested, faith hope and charity, two killed in Corralitos crash, and Big Basin Vineyards is opening a new wine bar downtown!

It’s our 5 year anniversary this week! Every week for the past 5 years, I’ve put out the Weekly Dump, bring you the vibrantly honest news and views of Santa Cruz. How did I celebrate? I went to see Los Lobos on Cowells beach last night and took my time publishing this morning! In other news, a local vagrant playing in traffic on Mission Street got arrested, ninja gangs, solo crash in Seabright kills local man, he’s gone, keeping our local pets safe and sane, crash into me, grand slam in front of Denny’s, Felton RV fires, hopping over the wrong fence, The Wolves are back, new community wellness center coming to Live Oak, Zooming in on the city council meeting, and we keep handicapping Ryan’s successor.
