Attempted Kidnapping In Scotts Valley Case of Mistaken Identity

Sunday afternoon around 4PM, Scotts Valley responded to the area near Mount Hermon and Kings Village roads after getting a report that a man tried to kidnap a teenage girl. The 17 year old girl was crossing the street when a man stopped and forcibly pulled her to his vehicle. An unidentified witness caused the man to stop and leave the scene. The uninjured victim did not know the suspect. Then a few days later, it was announced that the suspect thought the girl was his daughter, and it was all a case of mistaken identity. Another Bloody Fool From Santa Cruz Makes National News

Last Friday night, a Boulder Creek woman was arrested in Sacramento for disrupting a legislative session at the State Capitol by tossing a bloody tampon from the public viewing gallery down onto the Senate floor, according to reports from the California Highway Patrol and national news media sources. Witnesses said the woman was protesting mandatory vaccinations. State senators just finished voting when Boulder Creep threw the bloody tampon, saying “That’s for the dead babies.” I think I’ve seen her at a local city council meeting. She looks familiar. She certainly acts familiar.

CHP quickly cleared the Senate chambers after the incident and the woman was arrested in the hallway by CHP officers. She was charged with assault, vandalism, disrupting State Capitol business, obstructing the use of state property, preventing the legislature from meeting, and disrupting a legislative session. She was released from Sacramento County Jail Saturday morning. Of course she was! They couldn’t wait to send her ass back to Boulder Creek. We have such a high tolerance for personal stupidity and lack of accountability and such a low threshold for acceptable behavior here.

Serial Grifter Gets Four Years in State Prison

A 38 year old Santa Cruz County man convicted of 20 felonies and nine misdemeanors was sentenced to four years in state prison this past week. His criminal activity involved 11 victims and took place over a two year period in and around the Santa Cruz area. He reportedly stole more than $15,000 from at least six victims as part of a rental scam. Many victims were left with no place to live and no means to rent another after being defrauded out of thousands of dollars. He also defrauded the county’s welfare and food stamp applications, resulting in the theft of more than $7,000 in benefits he was not entitled to. Apparently some of the victims were women he dated, and he threatened two girlfriends with physical harm and tried to have their children taken from them, according to the district attorney’s office. Mission Impossible to Fix

Last Friday night around 9PM, SCPD arrested a 52 year old man in Mission Plaza Park on a number of charges, including drug possession, possession of a weapon at a school, theft, and drunk in public. Sounds like another vagrant bum hanging around near Holy Cross acting badly. Despite a relatively low bail, he’s still in jail last time I checked.

Santa Cruz Deputies Brush Up on Their Work

Last Friday  afternoon, Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies were attempting to arrest a man who had a felony warrant for criminal threats out of San Francisco. After about 30 minutes, they found him with the help of Harbor Patrol and Santa Cruz police and he was arrested and taken into custody.

Father and Son Arrested Again in Watsonville

A father and son from Watsonville who just can’t seem to stay out of trouble with the law were arrested again this week. Thursday morning, Watsonville police and California Highway Patrol officers arrested the 47 year old man and his 26 year old son after a weeks long investigation into drugs being sold at their home on Lawrence Avenue. They are both accused of running an illegal marijuana growing and selling business. Police had been called to the home before In July of 2018, after two armed men entered the home and stole a large amount of cash and marijuana. Both father and son shot at the robbers as they tried to flee, and one suspected thief died in the driveway. The father was arrested for murder in December of 2018 and was free after posting a million dollars for bail. After his release, police say the two men continued to sell drugs from the home. Last month, members of the Watsonville Police Special Investigations Unit served a high risk search warrant at the Lawrence Avenue address, where they seized nearly $200,000 worth of illegal marijuana plants and products.

In a separate investigation, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Eradication Section team located an illegal marijuana grow belonging to the same family. Deputies seized nearly 200 plants, and both men were booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail facing charges of unlawful sales, possession and cultivation of marijuana, and maintaining a drug house.

The King Has Left the Stage

Eddie Money was like the King of the Boardwalk Friday Night Summer Concert Series. For as long as I can remember, he has played it. Seemingly every year until recently, when health issues prevented him from making his annual appearance on Main Beach.

  1. im still laughing at the best buy joke lol

  2. What a great father, doesn’t even recognize his own daughter, is this guy blind?

  3. He may turn out to be legit Joe? Somewhere I read that she had a hoodie over her face and she was a runaway and looked a lot like the guys daughter. Anyway the cops will figure it out hopefully.

    • Thanks Gracchus. I heard something similar. I also heard he told witnesses the runaway daughter story at the scene and apologized at the scene, yet they still treated it like an attempted kidnapping. Probably because he fled the scene, but maybe he fled because he thought it wasn’t going to be reported. Weird story with lots of questions.

  4. Let’s support the council in censuring Grohn for misdeeds validated by third party.

    • Agree! And I’m sure we’ll see the usual cast of misfits protesting with their dumb black and white signs. “No Censureship!”

  5. I see the Shitshow has re-metastasized along the fence line on the southbound lane of Highway 1 before the River Street intersection. It’s filth piled on top of filth. Really bad for a city that relies on tourist dollars to allow drugged-out degenerates to camp at one of the cities most conspicuous intersections.

  6. I have a question for any and all. Since the homeless resource center is a private non profit, why has the City of Santa Cruz decided to invest money in buying surrounding properties for their use?

    • Why does the city spend money on the things that are needed the least or enables the worst???
I believe there is no answer for that, or, if there is one, it’s not logical, or one you would want to hear.
